Lowering kits
I know that there a couple of people in hear that have used a lowering kit off ebay for 60.00 I went looking but suck at ebay I was wondering if anyone has a link to the one they bougt.
I know you are going to hear this anyway, so I'll go ahead and post it. The shocks are the safest way to lower the bike. I went about an inch on my RG. Other guys can go into more detail as to why the links are not recommended. All of that being said, I went with links on my Star Warrior with excellent results. However, that bike utilizes a single rear shock mounted in the middle. In that case, there is also a spring and I boosted the spring from 750lbs to 1000lbs after lowering an inch. I would think the dual shock setup of the Harley would be a far more comfortable ride. In fact, it is.

I used the blocks to lower my 08 SG and like the results. Keep in mind, I'm 135lbs soaking wet and I think the ride suffered a little, but not enough to make me take them off. I did it myself in about 30 mins...very easy to do.
One other thing, you might want to check out his store from the link I provided above. I thought I saw the same drop kits for cheaper, but they might be for a different application.

I believe the SG shocks are 12" which is down from the 13" on the other touring bikes.
I have used lowering blocks on my 08 SG and was not overly happy with them. I am 180lbs and ride alone. If your interested I'll sell you the pair I have and they adjustable. I think ultimately you'll be happier with lowered shocks. I have been using 11" progressives for awhile now and have been happy with them for the most part. I have tried the Arnott system and did not like them because I could never get them adjusted to give me anything close to a decent ride. Oh they were low but the ride even pumped up was not good. I recently got a set of cut down stock Harley air shocks from Bitchen Baggers. These are 10 3/4" eye to eye. They lowered my bike another 1/4 inch form the 11" progressives. I will have a little more control over the damping I hope. Saturday I will be trying them for the first time so the jury is out. The lowering blocks will change the pitch angle of the shocks and your ride will suffer to some degree. Like I said if your interested I will sell you a set for cheap.
i have heard that an airbag suspension is the best way to go for lowering and still maintaining a sweet ride? its spendy, but is this the case? As if not i think id be happy just getting some shorter progressive shocks. but as far as maintaining a sweet ride would you experts feel the below is correct?
