Default 07 to 08 seat conversion???

Does anyone know if this is possible? I found the 07 SG seat to be so comfortable but the 08-09 seats are rediculous. After looking at them, It looks like the only difference is one has the notch on the seat and the other has the notch on the frame. If I was to cut a slit in the bottom of the 07 seat, would it fit??

Anyone try this or have a 07-06 seat they want to part out for cheap?

Before you try it you may want to try a road glide seat on your scoot. They are comfy and the rear pad doesn't look huge on the bike as a sundowner or FLHT seat would.

Dawg,

Already got one coming to me (hopefully) to test. I dont want to sit higher though, the seat position is perfect. They just curved the back for people with small rears and my rear isnt small, so the rounded edges go into my butt and it makes the seat so uncomfortable. Ive thought about seeing if the seat guy on here can just shave that area down but the 07 seat was absolutely perfect.

Bill,

I tried the RG seat but that made me sit higher than the SG seat which I didnt want. The guy only let me borrow it to see if I liked it. I think Im going to just bite the bullet and see what I can get a stock 07 seat for and just try it out. Thanks for the offer though.

Default Seat

Mike let me know how you make out, the RG seat is higher. The 07 seat wont fit on the 08 there is a slot for the seat on the 07 there is a tab on the seat that fits into the frame below the gas tank. I myself am going to sell the RG seat even at a loss and get the HD Sundowner, thanks Bill

My plan was to cut off the tab that is on the bottom of the seat and to cut a hole in the bottom of the seat pan where the notch on the frame goes in. I just dont have a 07 seat to measure everything out. But now that my bike got pushed back another month, I guess I have some time to look into it.

Did you ever try this. I purchased a older mustang seat for my 2013 roadking by mistake. Wondering if I can make it work. All the measurements look like that work except inlittle narrow in middle. Thanks
