Well thewife is making me get a new seat for my 07 RKC.
I like the seat that comes with it but she wants one with a larger passenger seat.
I have been looking at Mustang seats, the One-Piece Smooth Touring Seat to be exact.
Is it a pain to change the seat back and forth?

Just one screw at the tail. Slips right off!

 

I believe that you'll have to disconnect the grab strap as well. Then the screw on the back fender and your done.

 

And while you are at it leave the grab strap off and toss it. It does nothing but get in the way of easy on and off of the seat.

 

1. Remove the saddlebags
2. Remove the grab strap bolts on each side (only one needs to be removed if you keep the strap)
3.Remove Phillips head screw on top of rear fender.
4. Lift seat up and pull back.

Do this in reverse to install new seat (use some blue loctite on the fender screw).

 

She will like the Mustang much better than the stock HD seat-you might also want to consider the solo seat/removable passenger pillion set up. That is what I use and love the look of the solo Mustang saddle.

 

The bolt you remove on the right side to get the grab strap loose is also where the right saddle bag bolt goes. Just make sure you line it back correct or your bag will rub on your side cover. I went to a Mustang seat also. Much more comfortable. When I took my stock seat off I marked it with tape to try and line everything back up right. You might also, sit the bag on the rail and then put the back bolt in first and then line up the front bracket. You shouldn't have any trouble doing it this way. You'll see once you start on it. No big deal though really.

 

You might look at the Sundowner touring seat for RK Classic - I got one and added the driver hydraulic backrest - nice... and my wife loves it!
