60,000 mile service - how much $$$ ?
I'm due for my 60,000 mile service. How much will the dealer charge me ? Will they really check everything they are suppose to ? I saw other posts that said the mechanics don't know how to work on Evo's. I don't want someone inexperienced on Evo's working on my bike. How can I be sure I'm getting what I pay for ? I can't decide what to do.

Took my bike in to the dealer recently and said I need a 10K service. Doing the walkaround, the service tech says I need a 30K service. I asked how much, and the answer was $699 - instead of $379 for the 10K. Then I asked what the difference was, and nobody knew. Got the service schedules out and couldn't figure it out. Finally said fork oil. And I said I'm not changing the fork oil until I chrome the forks, and momma hasn't said I can spend that money yet - so - NO. So I got a 10K and I'm happy.
Service manager was good about it, though. He said he wouldn't do it either. And he changed my replaced my stock compensator with a SE compensator. Nice.

I experienced the same thing. Called around for pricing on the 10k service, one dealer said it'd be $750. When I asked why, he said, "It's very labor intensive, they change the fork oil." I went to another dealer and got it done for $325. By the time the 20k service rolls around, I think I'll have a lift and manual.
