Wow man, if you like it, buy it. My papa always told me" if you want something, get it now. You never know which day is your last so why wait." Have fun while you are here. There are no Harleys in heaven. I think???

Just tell your wife you are doing your part to jump start the economy and get the bike. That is a good deal that you got to ride your 04 since April basically for free. Peer pressure says "Do It"

I would agree that it does sound like a pretty good deal, BUT, everyone make sure they are reading his post right. he bought his 2004 in april of last year, so he has only had it a year. He will get a trade in value of what he paid for it last year, which was a used price...So yes he will get a depreciated amount from what the bike cost five years ago, BUT.....the one who said he got to ride it a year for free is right...Its a good deal, if you like the 09 jump on it, if you like your 04 just fine, keep it AND the lower payment. Just my .02.

Cool

The dealer said he would hold the deal for a week. I am really leaning toward getting the bike. We are retired and plan to start traveling both on the bike (I have a trailer I tow with my current bike and I am using the fact of more power to help convince the wife) and in a motor home with a trailer for the bike. New bike equals warranty, no break downs (I hope). Still working on the wife though, if she isn't happy, I won't be.

Sounds like a fair deal to me if you can the 09 for under MSRP. I figure that you basically got to ride the 04 for free for the past 10 months, plus the trade-in allowance will save you a boatload on sales tax if you're in a high sales tax area.

Depending on the area you live used bikes are more in demand then new ones. I would ask what the price would be without the trade. If they are willing to sell it under MSRP you may be better off selling your 04 yourself and then buy the new one. Also, you may have received a great deal on the 04 and that would NOT be to your advantage now. Just a thought...
