Default Flush-Mount Axle or Axle Covers?

Putting new wheels on the SG and was thinking about the Paul Yaffe flush mount axle for the front wheel at $145. Seem to remember some folks reporting problems with flush mount axles. Was that with just a particular brand or is it better to stay away from the flush mount altogether and just put some axle nut covers on??

I don't know if it was any particular brand or not but I would go with the covers and not take a chance. Just my .02

I have two. One from Klockwerks and one from a reseller on ebay. Both... no problems. Only thing I will say is that the keeper on the left side will obstruct the fork leg screw (that you use to disassemble the slider). In that case I just punched the keeper out and then had access to the screw. No biggie.

No regrets. Love the look. I think axle covers look like....covers. yuck. Just me.

I've used the Bad As Hell product with zero issues. I'll be getting another.

Fork cap and axle covers. The flush mount axles are a pain to get out after they been in a while (ask me how I know)

I purchased the FBI flushmount axle and have had no problems, also you might want to look at a cool piece they make that mounts on the bottom of the right side of the fork that covers the bolts. It gives it a clean look.

Did you use ample amounts of anti sieze on the axle? I have. Comes out very easily everytime I go to change tires.
