Default Fuel mileage...miles to empty

For those with '08 or '09 Touring bikes, I'm curious to know what kind of range you're averaging. If you go by the book, HD esimates the fuel economy to be 50 mpg for the newer Touring bikes, which means with my 6 gallon tank I should expect to see a range of something in the neighborhood of 300 miles. When I filled up today, I noticed that my fuel computer estimated that with a full tank....and I mean FULL (to the neck) that my range was 235 miles to empty. Okay...so maybe the fuel computer isn't 100% accurate becase it calculates everything based on current driving conditions, such as spped, rpm, etc.. Having said that, I still wnat to know what kind of range you guys are getting on your bikes. Please let me know what you're experiencing. My bike is BONE STOCK.

My 08 stock got around 40-45 MPG highway, babying it. Since I put the 02 IED on it's running better and cooler but it dropped about 3 to 4 MPG. People will say they get 50MPG but I would have to see it.

Rush slip ons and a set of Xied's....riding 2-up
at or slightly above posted speed limits, I'll get
44 to 46 miles to the gallon. (actually got 48 one trip into VT)
My 'miles to empty' guage is quite accurate......

When I fill up (which I havent done toooo many times) it starts around 240 miles to empty and counts up for at least 15 minutes (when highway riding) before settling around 265-285.

edit: 100% stock.

My miles to empty is usually right around 255 on my EGS. I average about 42 mpg, so it's in the neighborhood. I don't trust it or the gas guage, though. I watch my odometer. I need to stretch between 150-200 miles, anyway.

Default 38 mpg

buy and large I get about 38-40 mpg for both my 07 FLHTCU and my 08 FLTR. Some times better but never worse than 38. As they say, "ride it like you sole it" and I do. at slower highway speeds I can get better. that said, the only way to get 50 mph is if it's on a trailor. so much for the MOCO's honest trurh in advertising.

Based on my actually mpg at 40 X 6 gal tank I should get 240 miles per tank if I can burn (have access to) all 6 full gallons. I have come very close to putting 6 gals in and feel confident I can get 240 miles per tank on 09 Ultra but use 200 mi as my "start lookin for a station" indicator.

I get between 42 and 45 mpg and at fill up the miles to go usually is around 253 to 260. I have put in 5.3 gal and I was seeing the Lo to go signal on the odo.
