Why? 309kg equals 681 lbs. Sounds about right to me.

This site says 306kg

IMHO, the best way to go is to go with a tire designed for motorcycles.

Spoke w/ a fella up @ Kerr Lake running an auto rear tire on a Valk. No problems to speak of, "Just a little extra effort to keep it in the turns."

There are all kinds of folks on Hoss's that run car tires, some likum some don't.Finding the right tread pattern is tough to do,usually the car tires tread pattern are made to run in fours. Not a single tire application.Better you try a Metz radial made for the loads we carry and is designed for a motorcycle.

I wouldn't put a bike tire on a car, so I sure as hell wouldn't put a car tire on a bike. Now if you only ever plan on going in a straight line, it may have some validity, otherwise, its a silly proposition.

681 pounds is not "over a half a ton" like the "dark side" valk rider says on his web site.

Just because you can, doesn't always mean you should.

I didn't read what the guy said in the page from the link, but 1000 pounds is pretty close IMO.
309 kg is about 681 pounds as stated earlier.(dry) Wet adds at least another 50 pounds. Add rider, say another 175 average. Thats 900 pounds and still no gear, or passenger. 1000 pounds is easy to expect on a tourer. Riding solo on my RK loaded down is more than that.
