Default 2008 vs 2009 Ultra

Im looking to move to a different touring bike. Are there any major changes between the '08 & '09 models. Also, any dealers you can recommend in the Central OH area? Thanks,

Jim

I purchased an 09 after taking an 08 out for a spin. You can definetely feel the difference. One concern I had was the 09 felt a little bit higher in the seat to me. I am 5'9" and I still lowered it 1". Feels better for me now. Take both out for a scoot, pretty sure you will go with the 09, you cannot fight it!

If you are on a very tight budget they might deal more on remaining 08's.

Other than that---go for the 09!

I like the exhaust on the 09 which you cannot add to the 08 because of frame differences and the 09 has a fatter rear tire. Add a bagger brace and you have a bike that handles just as good. Other than that, the 08 has all the bells and whistles the 09 does.

GREAT video !!

Really like the 'WIDE' rear, but not too impressed with the exhaust.

Adding a "bagger brace" will not give you the same handling as an 09, I had one on my Road King, and this 09 is still much better. It's in the new frame, swingarm and rake/trail that make this feel much better I believe.

And let's not lose sight of the fact that the end of July will be bring on the 2010 models. So if you can hold off a little longer, you might get that good deal on an 09. FWIW

Significant changes in the '09 compared to previous years. From talk here nearly everyone finds the changes to be excellent improvements. The ride feels more solid and positive in sweeping turns, the exhaust re-routing is a good idea and the gearing change in the '09 for 6th gear (via changing the rear sprocket) is something many feel was an improvement. The wider rear tire and the rear fender area look great on the bike also IMHO. Another plus to me is that the factory cast wheels on the '09 are more attractive than the previous years.
