As I recall the fancy chrome model cost about $25. Seemed to make about 25 cents worth of difference. I left it on 'cause it's chrome and I spent $25 on the thing, the factory took them off because they were virtually ineffective. Do whatever floats your boat.

i left mine on for 7 years on my 01 RK. i liked the amount of bugs it kept from collecting on the front head. it won't fit on my 09.

likely an economic issue. save a few dollars building one bike--save thousands building thousands of bikes. plus sell a new one for over $20!!!

Don't know if the link will work http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US

...but the part for sale on Harley's site doesn't say anything about taking it off when warm.

I also have the air deflectors, don't see anything about those depending on temp range either http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US

By comparison, other products like the soft lowers do state on the web site they must be removed above a certain temperature http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US

So, if they're consistent in their warnings, then the fork baffle and air deflectors should be good to go for any temp, YMMV, but I'm gonna run em this summer unless I see an issue. I feel like the 03 RKC is more stable on the highway w/ the fork baffle and air deflectors installed, especially w/ the windshield, but don't have any issues w/out windshield, so far...

You can get them out of the Drag catalog for half the HD price

I run mine year round, no problems

Just make sure you run a 1/4-20 tap through the holes before you install it as the threads are covered in paint and you'll regret not doing it.
