Default better gas mileage

i removed the fuel pack and the vance and hines basic slip ons and put on a set of screamin eagles pipes and my gas mileage went way up. i was in the low 30's to the upper 40's. right now i sit at 93 miles on the odo and i have just under a 1/4 tank.
this weekend i went 142 miles and the needle read 1/2 tank, i put gas in it just to be safe and it took 3.4 gal. not bad if i must say. going on our first road trip in 3 weeks to North Carolina and looking to get about 190miles per tank. never seen that before

BDM,
I have the V&H fuelpak, dresser duels and Monster ovals. I avg. 40 -42 and look for fuel at around 160 miles. If in a good headwind, the MPG drops to the mid-thirties.
See ya in 3 weeks

I think it depends on how much you turn that twisty on the right handlebar?

I have the fuelPak and the V&H slip-ons, and average 42 MPG. I've been able to get 47 MPG out of it on the highway, but also managed to get 33 MPG putting around the city all day. So, it varies. If your average is only in the 30s and you spend a lot of time on the highway or long country roads, my guess is your FuelPak settings were not correct (or needed modified with a call to V&H).

is your air filter stock or hi flow? if it is high flow you are running lean with stock computer and could melt the top of your piston. if it is stock air filter you should be alright.

When my 07 Ultra was new I was getting 39-42 mpg, below 40 mpg always if using 6th gear.
I did a stage 1 all V&H- true duals, basic slip on's, fuelpak, and SE ac mileage went up to 40-44 mpg and 46-48 mpg below 60 mph. 6th gear was still bad, around 40 mpg.
At 30,000 miles I went to the Se 255 cams and went to the Se 64895-07a slip on's. Remapped the fuelpak. I get 44-46 mpg fairly regularly and 46-52 below 60 mph. 6th gear riding went way up, average (so far) running 75 mph I am getting around 44 mpg.
In town the mpg is much better, above 40, closer to 42 mpg.
I do not do the interstate thing much at all. In Alabama there are great riding on 2 lanes no matter where you are going.
I also like the Se mufflers, I just do not like loud any more.
