Are you adjusting the volume output on the bike?

Make sure the volume is up on the MP3 player before you plug it in. I have to adjust the volume on my IPOD shuffle every time after I sync it.

Yes I have to do the same with my 08. Then I adjust with the volume control on the radio. It works fine like that.

You will find that any device played through any AUX port will behave the same. The lower volume is also true for car radios with AUX ports. If the volume is too low even with both the device and radio volumes turned up, then you can add an amplifier, either passive or powered.

I use an Ipod with mine as well but I have a Hog Tunes amp and speakers so there is no need to jack up the volume any more than usual.

that is a common thing for a lot of MP3 players, especially if you are using a line from the headphone jack to the radio....it is the same way in my truck and bpth cars
