Default 2010 Tour Glide? YOU be the judge!

Today a group of us rode (some car pooled) to the Harley Davidson YORK, PA Assembly Plant for a scheduled tour. I left my home at shortly after 6 a.m. with 30 degree temps and all total I rode just over 300 miles round trip. Here's the interesting part you're all waiting for.

Now I have been in many assembly plants of different types so the 2 hour tour didn't really interest me that much. We toured the main touring production plant as well as a special tour of the CVO Plant behind it. While I was there, I was looking for signs of the 2010 Models to come and I even asked the tour guides and escorts who pleaded ignorance and claimed to not even know what bikes were being discontinued. (I believed them, they are tour guides, period.) After about 45 minutes in the Touring Plant and getting past all the stamping machines and huge presses, robotic lazers etc etc. we finally were guided past the assembly line itself and saw many many bikes being built. Then something caught my eye!

I spotted two or three Road Glide Fairings off to the side and partially obstructed but I noticed something different about them. Now I have a Red Hot Sunglo Roadie myself so I know that color and these fairings certainly seemed to be Red Hot Sunglo but something was different. The graphics on them was wider (I liken it more to how the 08 Roadies were striped) and the color of the graphics was new to me and not one of the current themes for 2009. It appeared to be a dark copper or bronze graphic, possibly outlined in black and it really looked sharp! I was trying to judge if the fairings also had a slightly different shape and I am undecided if they did or not. The angle I had was compromised and I couldn't say for sure if the fairing was redesigned. Anyway, on the way back we basically almost back tracked our steps and while I can't be certain we did follow the same route, I did not see those fairings again.

I can tell you that the color scheme looked dynamite from what I saw and I felt confident that I had seen a few fairings for the phantom 2010 Tour Glide, since we know for sure that the Road Glide is no more. (Too many Dealers have confirmed that news.) So, you be the judge. Is that parts for the 2010 Tour Glide? The Tour Guide said that they are still building 2009s and will switch over to 2010 Models in June. He did tell us that a few weeks ago they did build a few 2011 Models there that were shipped out for testing, i think to Arizona. Anyway, That's what I saw! Oh yea, 100% cotton T-Shirts are only $22 at the York Plant.

Figgers , had two TG's before the Roadie .. I think'll it'll be a mistake if they drop it , but ya never know nowadays ..

Mebbe they'll reincarnate it in Ultra , like the 92~-98~TG , then I wud be angry somewhat ..

To me , it's not an issue to drop it , because the fairing is the only change between it and the batwing ..

come on LeoHD, let these Road Glide owners have their few minutes in the lime light... I personally dont care for this model, I will take my Street Glide, but hey, I'm not paying, and I have been told that once you ride one you will never ride anything else... so I guess I dont know much either...

all I know if that I prefer my Street Glide.

No reservations needed, but limited numbers, so don't roll in at the last minute. No cameras. It IS a cool tour.

Some of us seem to think that the MOCO is stuck in the past, but it was interesting to me the mix of old and new. Eg. bumpers are hand formed, fenders are trimmed by a LASER.
