Mustang Solo
Short Version - After deciding against lowering the suspension and ruling out modifying the OEM Comfort Stitch seat (based on what I've read here about the limitations of the '09 seats) I contacted Mustang and asked which would be the best way to go for lowering the riding position. I was told that the solo with the separate passenger pillion was lower than their comparable one-piece seat. Thought about it a bit, pulled the trigger and bought the solo and passenger pillion. After the install I looked at that set-up and thought how "little" it all looked compared to the behemoth OEM thing I had removed and thought, "I've always had great results with Mustang but I wonder if I've screwed up this time...." Well, before I got to the end of my driveway I knew I had made the right decision. Absolutely perfect fit for me on this stupidly heavy bike (that I absolutely love BTW). Put 100 miles on the new seat. The top-heavy feeling is gone and all is good. Got the "feel" that I had been missing on this new bike. Time to Ebay a Comfort Stitch seat!!
Vintage "smooth" solo 15" and the 13-1/2" matching pillion. I bought a Daytripper 2-up once for one of my Sportsters...the "Trippers" all really look cool but mine was hard as a rock and after an hour it was "over". The Daytripper is the only Mustang seat I disliked enough to return and I've had several...and I replaced that Daytripper with a vintage solo too!
I don't care what anyone says......Mustang seats are the best......
My latest is a vintage solo with removable backrest.

Smooth move. I had Allan Austin at Mean City Cycles lower my comfort stitch. Works great when I'm hauling the misses but looks like my a$$ has a growth when I ride alone. I was wondering what to do for a solo seat and, from what you guys recommend, looks like my search is over. Just for giggles, any thoughts on the Corbin solo?
