RE: Anyone install the Progressive 440 Shocks on their Bagger?
I put them on my RK and it was the simplest job I have ever done. You will only need a wrench. The trick is to put your bike on the lift and raise it just enough to take the pressure off the shocks. Should only take about 45 minutes.

Just installed these a couple of weeks ago. Have been messing around with the preload, trying different settings. I know it depends on weight, cargo, passenger, etc., but how many turns out are most people going with the springs. I'm 190 lbs, ride solo most of the time and set the springs at about 3 turns out. Is this a common setting????????

I know the overwhelming answer to this question is very positive, however a few have mentioned that they didnt care for their 440's and even removed them due to the ride being too rigid or firm. Which is it...the near perfect ride or a rigid firm ride that isn't for everyone?

I should have mentioned my 440's are 12" standard spring replacements for the H-D lowered air shocks. Although I have only had the 440's on for a very short period of time (1 week or so), I would say the ride has improved. I am still playing with the preload, changing it around to find the perfect setting, I do not bottom out like I did with the stock shocks and the handling is noticeably better, ie: not wallowing in the turns. It feels tighter if that makes any sense. The difference with the 440's is not like going from a rigid frame to a touring bike, but the improvements are noticeable over the stock 12" H-D air shock.......

Everyones opinion will differ. Mine are definately stiffer but the bike hooks in like a sport touring. lol I just wish I wouldn't have skimped last year with the lowering brackets for the RK Classic. Waste of money because you always end up buying the right thing in the end. My wife even noticed the improvement.
