I use synthetic oil and change it regularly. The main reason I use it is Superior performance at higher temperatures in air cooled motors. Living in the south that's important to me. I've used it for over 20 years in mostly BMW motorcycles. Have close to 200K on motor cycles under all conditions and it has never missed a beat.
I went back to reg. oil because my lifters went out a 25,000 miles. after they were replaced they still made noise, I went to 20-50 dino oil and they quited down.
Yep, I agree with this. I've been considering getting an oil cooler just to keep the temp down and go back to 20-50 dino oil. I certainly don't think there is anything wrong with dino oil, especially since I change the crankcase oil about every 3000 miles, but the synthetic does make a difference on the engine temperature.
It is like asking which beer taste best. There is no correct answer. Just use a good quality product and enjoy riding. Riding is the point anyway, right.

Because I'm the worlds most interesting man, living vicariously through myself, when I drink beer, I like Dos Equis best.
