Default MCC Seats?

Im thinking of sending my seat off to Mean City Cycles for some mods. Id like to be maybe 1/2" lower, have some foam added and have the sides of the seats cut down so I can flat foot the bike easier. Ive read some good reviews but always up for more feed back.

Has anyone had the comfort Cruizer gel pad doen yet? What do you think about it and is it worth it over the memory foam mod? Do the seat heaters really do any good?

I had memory foam added, it felt like I bottomed out after 5 minutes in the saddle. better than stock but not a night and day comfort change. I found it just to hard, but less so than the original seat. The goal of sitting me down and back was met to above my satisfaction though. I would recomend them but I'd give the gel pad a try if I did it over again.

Thanks. I find the stock seat pretty comfortable but would just a bit more padding and to have the sides of the seat cut down a bit. I may go ahead and schedule a date to send them my seat, for $100 it still ALOT cheaper than a new seat.

I have the foam up front and the gel out back for mama. I think if I was to do it over again I'd go all gel. My butt gets tired before hers.........just the opposite of before the mod. They did an excellent job of cutting it down where I needed and adding some to the back to scoot me closed to the bars. All in all I'm very pleased with the seat and service and you just can't beat the price.

Allen lowered me an inch and moved me back an inch too. He added triple decker to the misses area. I can ride all day and the little lady is a happy camper too.

Great to hear the good reviews! But no one has had then cut down (narrow) the sides of the rider portion of the seat? Im really curious how that looks / performs since that is the top of my wish list, or my only complaint with the bike.

I had the sides of mine cut down so I'd be more flat footed on the bike. Worked great and pretty much looks the same. Even with a 32" inseam I couldn't sit flat footed on the bike with the Sundowner before this.
