I agree on just repainting and engine Mods. At least from my perspective most times I get the bug for another bike is because of a paint set that catches my eye.

True, true... I really love my bike. I guess it's the chrome wheels, paint and power is what I like. I can put a few grand into mine and have the same thing. Plus my 07, has been rock solid. No issues. That's why I posted, to get honest unbiased opinions. Thanks guys.

I'd keep the 07 and build the motor up. It will be cheaper in the long run and you get to keep your 6 speed which we all know is nice on the freeways...

Alos keep in mind that you will be going back to a 5 speed. This would be a huge deal breaker for me on a touring bike. Not so much on an around town bike but on the highway the difference is huge.

that is the one thing i miss is the 6 speed. but what kind of deal are going to give you? how much you have to pay the difference? weigh those options against the cost of a paint job and a motor upgrade. i traded my '07 road king for an '05 electra glide classic. i was able to due an even swap at the dealer.
best deal i have ever done and no regrets on the decision o going to a 2005

My old man had the (04 or 05) orange and black SEU that thing was bad ***. In my opinion you will never be able to make your 07 ultra look the way that bike looks between paint and just wheels. The detail that are in those bikes would be costly to convert. Gauges, paint, tank console, detachable tour pack, painted inner fairing, hydro clutch, chrome controls. Man the list goes on. If i could trade my 08 SG for that bike i would in a heart beat (would have to be the orange and black though).

Good luck on your decision.
