Man that blows, If they keep the bike I'd be asking for a loaner. Then you can still do your trip. A new bike would be whats right. Hope your dealer steps up for you.
I'm guessing that the white residue is that crap that they dip the frames in to clean them before powdercoating. They never come close to getting it all out and it'll leach out of cracks like that one. MOCO QC - gotta love it!

The white stuff just flakes off, not sure.. but the Rust area.. looks like they missed painting the frame in this area as well..
The oil on the nut.. like I said , I was changing my oil :-)
This is the best pic. I can do..
I will Post after San Jose Harley, Ca. Dealer (where I purchased the bike) , see's what I am seeing.
The only person i would allow to weld on my bike would be PUCC welding, being old school MX , I soon just scrap the frame or .. long shot new bike..
Never seen a Harley loaner, but never seen a broken frame straight from the factory..
Could use some prayers....
Thanks

That does sux big time. But all I see you getting is a new frame under warrenty.
My dealer doesn't do loaners or rentals. So I would be screwed if it happens to me.

Good luck.
i second the new frame only, at best unfortunately. think about it, $4-5k frame swap (retail parts and labor) or $20k bike. you do the math they dont try and please customers that hard. honestly if you know a pro welder, and they will pay for it, that may be the route to take. otherwise your bike will be split open stem to sternum by some tech who may or may not give a ****. unfortunately it will never be as good as new with a dealer re-frame.
