If you have the Screaming Eagle Filter the instruction that came with the back plate states that you can wash the filter by dipping in a degreaser(soap) that is in a pan and only deep enough to come up 3/4 way of the pleats. DO NOT SUBMERGE THE INSIDE OF THE FILTER!! Meaning that you must roll it like a wheel to get the the outside wet. Let it sit for a few minutes to let the degreaser to work. Rinse with hose from the inside out. Let it air dry! DO NOT DRY WITH COMPRESSED AIR!! Re-install ! Do not oil !

doggonit, after i cleaned mine last week in a bucket of water with some dawn in it. oh well. i let it air dry for two days out in my shop, and worked just fine. you'll see it embossed on the metal surface that's toward you , "do not oil"

Agree with the K & N; previously had the Harley filter, but the K & N is easier to deal with and will last forever.

My stage 1 Se ac kit came with a paper filter. If the bike is under warranty they will replace it every 10,000 miles for free when you have service done. I replaced it with the fiberglass filter, couldn't find a K&N any where. Mine is the round tapered with 3 screws holes and I have never seen it anywhere.
