Burning oil (?)
Do you guy's scoots burn oil?
I've got an 09 Ultra, with 8,000 miles, and it looks like I've will be burning about a quart and a half from the 5k change to the 10k change...
Normal? Seems excessive to me.
These past 3k miles have been a mixture of commuting and long weekend rides....
Thanks!

Big issue with me, my engine let go at 6K and by 10K as I needed the oil changed again I has used 2 qts.
Got a lifter noise at 11K after riding all day and took it back in and told them my oil pressure drops to 5 psi at idle and at 2200 rpm I get lifter rattle.
They could not duplicate the problem but when I picked it up it did not rattle (?) They said they did not do anything.
I called the MOCO cutomer servcie and was given the brush off and an "tough ****" type of attitude. The tier 2 cutomer servcie rep I talked to said it is normal for the bike to use 1 qt per 1000 miles. (WTF?) that mean you run dry between oil changes right?
Good question , I second the request in a different way -----Who check their oil between changes and at every ride? If I don't I may be screwed according to the MOCO.
I'm not a happy camper. !

The stealer's can never duplicate the problem!! If your burning a qt per 1000mi you got issues. I have 43k on my 07 RG and I burn maybe a 1/4 of a qt. in 2500 mi sometimes more on a long trip with long days. I use amsoil 20/50 syn and change it every 8500-9000 mi. For those of you who are thinking 8500 miles between changes this guy is nuts. I had the oil tested last change and there were no signs of wear metals in the oil the oil tested outstanding. I am going to do a test at the next oil change and I will post the results.

Well I gotta give credit to the dealership that I frequent. I stopped in today and told them about the oil issue.
They asked me the obligatory questions first - do you know how to check your oil, etc....
The service guy agreed that this isn't right. Asked me to take weekly readings, document it for 6 weeks, and then come back.
Now I know he didn't say anything about it getting fixed, but I didn't get any statements about this being normal.
