Default Chrome issue rant!

Well I know my bike is a 1999 model, but its only had 3500 miles on the clock (previous owner) and I am riding as much as I can to run her in! The bikes in mint condition.
My point today is that the chrome is coming off the rear indicator bracket in sheet form. Now I will not sell the bike as its the best so far, but why do they suffer with this problem after all they cost a lot to start with? I will have to get it rechromed in the winter along with some other bits that I have spotted flaking off!

Sounds like its time to customise with aftermarket. Make it your own!

Cost as much to re-chrome as to buy new on the small stuff. A little bump or bang can cause the chrome to pop.

HD's chrome is certainly not the best, my 06 FLHT had stuff rusting when I picked it up, they changed it at the first service

I have a new breather cover (3 months old) that I noticed the chrome starting to "bubble" in spots. As someone said HD chrome may not be the best but it is the most expensive!!!
I haven't taken it back to the dealer yet to see if they will replace it but I'm quite sure its something I have caused because I do my own work rather than pay them $85 for an hour of install time. Not being negative but I have a bad dealer where I live, I envy you guys who have good, honest dealers to deal with.

Bought bike in for 1k service and the service writer found a small bubble in the rocker covers and pits on heat sheild , they replaced them a month later when the got replacements in stock and I had time under warranty. I have found chromepros to be the best chroming yet and will do exchange with them from here on on every part. Will be doing the FXDC front end, forks, triple trees, the FXD rims stc as soon as I am done with my Ultras Motor and can accumilate a little cash. In the mean time look at using Colonel Brassy and polish for the pitting / rusting parts.

Just cause then miles are low doesn't mean the previous owner keep it from the elements, or didn't live on the beach.

Finding take-off parts on ebay would be alot cheaper than re-chroming.
