07 Electraglide FOB / Security red key light on
Here is what I got...
Coming back from the Blue Ridge Parkway, I was scanning the gauges and noticed the red key light came on..
I waited until I was near civilization before I turned the bike off.
Turned it off and on ,bike started no issues...but red light came back on and stayed on.
Thinking the FOB battery is dieing I gambled and pressed on.
It would stay on and go out randomly during the next 2 hrs.
I looked in the service manual and it doesn't mention anything about the FOB.
I looked at the small owners manual and yes i carry it on the bike so no issue with the overriding code.
I tried both FOBs at home and it is still intermittent on/off.
I cycled the ignition key and found there are no codes active or stored..
Suggestions?

Have you seen your neutral light or 6th gear indicator come on randomly yet?
The neutral switch is prone to failure, I think they are on revision "D" for the part.
Anyway, the remote key in the gauges is indicative of a neutral switch failure.
Good news is...It is less than $20 and takes five minutes to replace. My replacement has been working for over two years.
Also, the problem seems to show up in the heat. Apparently with heat, is when whatever is wrong with the neutral switch fails. When mine was going bad, after it cooled down the problem would not show up until it got hot again.
Good luck.

I rode through a day or serious rain last summer, and the next day I noticed the red key light was on. I happened to be riding with the owner of a Harley dealership at the time, and he called his service guy and asked him. The service guy did not know what the problem was, but he said I would not get stranded, and I could wait until I got home to troubleshoot it. A few days later, after everything had dried out, the light was off. It has been a couple of months since then, and the problem has not come back. Since you didn't find any trouble codes, it is probably not a big deal. Ride Safe!
