I'm guessing here too, but did the bike exceed it's "lean level" and activate the automatic engine shutdown. Even though it runs, it may have tripped that key light.(?)
Try cycling the key in the ignition 5 times rapidly and see if it will go out.

Just checked the manual under security status indicator andthe only thing it says about the key light staying on is:
"Service: a key icon that remains illuminated longer than four seconds indicates that service of the module is required"

I just got a chance to check my manual, and it says (on page 70 of my manual, Table 17, Security Lamp Status):
STATUS: If security lamp stays ON solid with ignition key ON
MODE: If solid for more than 8 seconds after key is ON, a current trouble code is present.
