My 1200C sporty had a 21" wheel and my new '10 RKC does not. The RK is easier to maneuver at slow speeds and corners better with the smaller rim and fatter tire. I too was considering a 21/18 setup down the road for the RK but the more I ride it as is, the less I want to change the wheels.

Just my $0.02

I'm 5"7" and have a 18" rear and 21" front on my 08 Shark. I originally had the front and rear lowered 1" with the 16's. When I changed out to the 18 & 21, I was no longer flat footed on the bike, the bike felt top heavy, and there was a noticable difference in the lean angle while on the stand. I lowered the front 2" and everything went back to where it was with the 16's. The bike handles fine and looks really good. I would prefer not to have the front lowered 2", but at my height it is a must with the 21" front.

I love it. Didn't lower the front, but did lower the back an inch with street glide shocks. I love the way it looks like i'm riding uphill, makes the wheel look that much bigger. Only a noticable difference at slow speeds, <10 mph.

Parkway, how does your bike handle once you lowered the front 2inches? Does it bottom out? Performance Machine might be here at a rally next month and if I can score a real good deal on a new 21inch wheel I just might do it.

burly and progressive make lowering kits for the front. It's a pretty straight forward and simple kit and can be done in a couple hours or so. The 140 tire is slightly taller on the 21x3.25 rim because its a wider tire compared to the 120. When mounting on the same rim, it will bulge slightly to fit on the rim and cause the overall height to be a bit taller... The 120's don't have the same fender clearance issues as the 140

I have an 09 SG and love the looks of the 21". I just ordered 18" rear and 19" front because I tour a lot and thought staying with a wheel size that is availible on some stock HD bikes, it might be easier to buy a tire on the road if need be.

The 21" modification is one of the easiest things you can do to your bike, just redrill the rear fender mounting hole with a 3/8 drill bit and tilt it upwards, tape a 3/4 in nut on the tre and spin. There should be no rubbing. Don't now about the Avon tire, but I ran the Metzler tire because it dosen't swell.

The new 23" requires to much cash and mods for me.

Default 21" wheel

After watching my bike on the dyno it was clear that the problem was my rear tire, which looked to be out of round from the day I installed it. I got a new rear tire and put the 21" back on and I actually prefer the handling of the 21" over the 18".

The front end needs to be lowered one inch by the way.
GliderXXX, who's the manufacturer of your wheel. Very nice looking! Thx!
