The glove boxes on the knock off lowers appear to be made of an injected molded plastic which I also believe the HD lower gloveboxes are also plastic. The knock off glove boxes are a little bit rougher looking plastic and may not look quite as nice as the HD ones but again not a deal breaker. The ebay pictures are pretty good pictures of the difference. The glovebox covers on the knock offs are indeed plastic where the HD ones may in fact be a vinyl or leather. I may purchase the locking covers at some point but have not done so yet.

I just ordered a set from ebay, where it a good place to get the mounting hardware? I don't want to spend $90 for the quick release. I paid 285 + shipping for the lowers, hard to beat he price.

... I still would. Bought the factory set color matched with vents for way more. It is colder here so I was looking for the wind deflection benefit. It is better but not as much as I anticipated. Not saying I wouldn't have them as I think they do help and when you are in NY everything counts. Look forward to summer to see if the vents are sufficient or I remove them.

I bought Jeff's and I love them. Great deal from a cool dude. Thanks Jeff

I ask about the same ones before buying a set of OEM lowers. The seller said there was no guaranty that they would fit like the OEM Harley lowers and there was no returns, if you didn't like the way they fit. That worried me.

I'm also looking to purchase these cheap ebay knockoffs. Does anyone know if the glove box openings are the same as the HD? Looking to put the Hog Tunes speaker kit in. Thanks, Dave

I bought a pair last summer, they even have harley p#'s on them, but the numbers are not correct, go figure. The finish is pretty good, fit, just a little trimming on the right lower where it goes around the rear master cylinder. Overall, very happy with them. as far as mounting brackets and quick detach hardware, all you need to buy is the lower clamp, about $3.00 each. The caps clamp around the engine guard, only 2 screws and they're off.

Vivid black is a good match, not perfect but there is enough distance between them and the sheetmetal so you'll never notice it. Make them an offer under the asking price, I got mine for $279.00, pretty good deal.
