Default 21" front wheel/tire and Front Fender??

Greetings;

I'm considering changing front fenders when I change to a 21" front wheel. I've seen several touring bikes with "non-stock" front fenders and a 21" wheel -- a more "minimal" fender seems to make the bike look pretty cool. Some that I've seen were clearly aftermarket, but a few have been fenders from other harley models.

QUESTION: for those that have done this mod, what fender did you use, and were there any issues that we should be aware of. Oh -- pictures would be great!

I went with the FBI front fender... its the best looking custom fender for those running the 21" wheel IMO... its not cheap but usually you get what you pay for... pic in sig shows the fender...

Sweet looking fender. Well worth the money. After all, it's only money and you can't take it with you.

Was it a bolt on thing besides having to get it painted or did it come painted? That would be even better!

Yep it bolts on using 2 chrome brackets... you can get it painted from FBI or you can get it unfinshed... FBI is a licensed H-D dealer so they have all the H-D paint codes so the paint matched perfect! They have these available in composite or steel...

I have a RWD "Wrap Around" type front fender, looks like the FBI. The price was a couple of hundred less, uses a similar bracket to the FBI. I did have to paint but was painting the bike anyway. It fit perfect, all spacing, gaps, etc. were/are as close to perfect as you can get. I think I bought it on E-bay from Eastern Performance for $225 + $75 for the mounting brackets, free shipping.
