I didn't take the time to read the article because I'm not in the market for a bike. I just watched the video and caught on to the boosted description of the Victory, and the lack luster description of the RG. "Big, Beefy, Robust, Sporty", compared to "Improved, Reliable, Classic, and GloveBox"........ I really don't give a crap, it's just an observation.
I really dislike the looks of the victory motorcycles. Looking at the fairings head on and the hard bags make me throw up in my mouth. I don't care if it's 10k cheaper I wouldn't buy a victory. They might make a quality product and I have a friend who owns a vision and loves it, I won't be caught dead on one period.
I thought they made a peculiar statement when they stated that you ride on the RG and in the Victory. I have a RK but imagine the seating arrangement is the same as the RG and I love the way the bike sits. I have always loved the way the RG looked. I wonder why would you buy a Harley look alike if you wanted a Harley to begin with???

There is still that cheesyness about them. My buddy has a Victory Vegas and some of the parts just look like cheap crap, and I have heard they are buzzy and vibrate alot when you push them. I'll keep my SG. He is going to get one of those SG wannabes and wants my to try it. He thinks if I ride a Victory I'll get one.
I would ride a Star Stratoliner before a Victory, but have no plans of giving up the SG anytime soon.
I took a close look at Victory bikes at the recent Motorcycle Show. What seems clear is the company is playing out of the Farley playbook. Cheap plastic parts where ever possible (likely bought from the same companies that Yamaha et al use). Poor quality paint and chrome. So sure they can make their bikes cheaper with cheap mass produced turn signals and so forth but they don't have the fit and finish that Harley is producing.
