waiting on a part from Harley. Im putting the Nacelle back to original, without the wind deflector off the head light. Fkn Harley taking there sweet *** time. I got the apes done, just waiting on that part.
bars are 14in wild ones.. and Im 6 ft...I also have my windshield cut
I was wonderinghow you like the 14" wild one ape hanger on your road king? They look awesome. I just got them put on my 2007 road king. I just started riding last year. I was going back and forth between the 14"or 16". since I'm a new rider I firgure the shorter ones would be better for more control. Also it looks like your's are set just ahead of th eline of the forks and I see that quite a bit. Is that for better comfort?
I went with 18`s .. have them on my 05 RK and 09 RK..on both I had a piece of plexi glass cut that I zip tie between the bars...the 05 RK (old school flames) has it attached in the pic...you can hardly tell it is there & have gotten allot of positive comments on it......
I had to upload pics of my ride on this post because this is one of the deciding post I read when I was going through the process of selection with my own handlebars about 3 months ago. I'm 6'4" and could have gone 18" easily, but I'm really happy with my 16" WO's and the sweet look they bring to the classic look of the King. I ride with and without windshield, I have pictures of both. My bars are pressed as far as the windshield will allow and I find them to be rocked forward just a a bit, but I'm totally comfortable... leeeannn baaccckkk... 2009 Road King Rhinehart Slip-Ons 16" Wild One Chubby Apes
About hitting the windshield, it depends on where you put them, if they are forward they will rub on the cables or bars. Look around at different sites for all the differnt item you need. See if there are any sales going on. I saved money by shopping around.
