Q, You are the only vote on them 18s right now. how tall are you? are the 16s above the shoulder? you gettin them 18"s?

 

6', 16" Carlini Flyin apes fit perfect, shield works good. Jury is still out on if I should've went higher I need to put some miles on before I could say one way or the other. Just by sitting on it i'm glad I didn't go any shorter.

I have the Cycelsmith 16's
with a 6 inch windshield I rock them as far forward as will go without rubbing the faring. Ran the same thing on my last bike for almost two years. once you ride with the apes you'll never go back.

 

18"s seem to be just right for me.

 

JP, I selected 18" I feel that I could easily adjust. I'm 5'8", and like Nsodpty, I rock mine all the way forward to the fairing and when I ride without the fairing it's a little further. The key is having the right seat for your height and and ape's, plus gotta know how to ride with them!! LOL

 

I'm 6'3" and put 12.5 apes on my RKC. They feel "normal" like they should have come on the bike. I wish I had gone for 16" but I was a little timmed coming from those dinky stockers.

 

a windshield with apes is like a mullet or an el camino. You may enjoy both, but the combination looks really silly!
