Engine Cuts off while riding
I have a stock '06 Street Glide with approximately 2700 miles on it. The other day while riding, I was downshifting at a yield sign when the engine cut off. All electrical components were still working. I came to a complete stop and started the engine and took off. A quarter mile down the road, shifting from second to third, the engine cuts off again. Once again, all electrical is working, I even turn on my flashers as this time and coast to a stopping point because the engine will not start.
I pull off the road, cut everything off, wait about 10 minutes and it starts. For nine days, yes nine days, my bike has been at the dealership and no one knows what to do with it.
BTW-I did have the fork lock replaced three days before this happened. However the day before this happened (engine cut off), I rode the bike about 200 miles without incident. Just curious, has anyone else had this type of probelm? If so, what was the problem?[&o]

I have an 06 Ultra that does the same thing. So far I think I have isolated it to the kill switch. When it starts to die I wiggle the switch in the run position and all is well, for a while.
Check the wires coming from the voltage regulator. Where they go under and along the frame rail they have been known to rub thru the insulation and short out.

Wouldn't it be a little soon for those to wear? Dealership said they thought it might be a sensor, but they've been testing various scenarios trying to get it to repeat without luck.
Also, I' just heard that there are some problems with the ignition coil causing engines to cut off. They overheat or something to that affect. I'm trying to confirm the source though. Thoughts?

My Road King died going down the highway on me on a Sunday morning of course and I prodded around under the rightside cover and found my fuse for the fuel pump was loose and about to fall out. I seated it better and haven't had any trouble since. Might be something simple worth checking if you haven't done it already.
