UPDATE: Prayers really helped
Thanks to many of you that sent prayers up for Keith after his serious motorcycle accident. He's still in the hospital (3rd Week) and he really is making some remarkable progress. Surgery on his leg required 6 steel plates/rods, and any number of screws, and about 8 1/2 hours of surgery. Shoulder surgery went better, but now they're saying he may need surgery on his other leg as well. MCL and ACL torn on the other side, and they didn't know that before. His 4-5 broken ribs are still painful, but he's able to breath easier than before. Thanks to the pain-killers. His spirits are much better, and he said to tell all of you thanks a ton for the prayers. He's good people, and I'm hoping that some day he'll get back in the saddle. Probably not this year, though. Thanks to all!
Thanks for the updates and glad that Keith is making progress. Sounds like you may be his lifeline. I got a few close Buds that I would do anything for and I know they would for me too. No doubt you have helped him more than you know.
This has been very traumatic. As a long time rider, you can't help but put yourself in his place. This could happen to any of us. This wasn't his fault, the guy just pulled out right in front of him. (He was texting when he did it) Originally they thought he was on the phone, talking....but since have discovered he was texting. We all know that riding motorcycles can be risky, but that's also part of the intrigue. This just hit so close to home, that I felt obligated to do all I can to help with a speedy recovery. I think there's many on here that would do the same. No real burden on my part, just trying to help out a friend.
glad to hear keith is doing better. and now u can get some rest also my wife just went down 2 weeks ago and i seen the whole thing somebody went into her lane missed her but still went down she broke her wrist and got bruised up a little. so i know what u went threw any way thank the good lord for his mircles.
Broken ribs and a broken leg? Bummer that is going to be a pain in the crutch. Among other things I broke my left wrist and nine ribs back in September 2007. I still have body aches but my mind is starting to return to me feeling like a human these days. Glad to hear that he is on the road to recovery! Getting out of the hospital and back on a bike is a great form of therapy when you can get back on.
Dealer: what cha doin' ?
Me; Pulling the clutch, it's Physical Therapy for my broken wrist.
Dealer: well if your gonna drool all over the new ultra's let me get you a rag so you can at least get a shiny replacement bike!

great to hear that Keith is a lil better everyday. You are a great friend, and since I was in a similar situation after a car wreck and had a few great people that went out of their way to come and see me while I was in the hospital and a rehab facility almost everyday, and let me just tell you that is what kept me going. It is hard to find good friends, and when you do, it is a God sent!
Keep us posted on Keith... Prayers still being sent!

Glad Keith is on the mend.
At best, he's got a long, hard road ahead of him, I know this from expereiance.
........................... Now, W.T.H. can be done about these IDIOTS playing with their cell phone toys while they "drive"? This situation is completely out of hand!

Rick, sorry to hear about your wife, but glad she's doing OK. It could have been a lot worse. And Will, I know you had a bad one, and I don't know what to do about these folks that insist on texting, talking and driving, and generally just not paying any attention to what they are doing. Thanks for the prayers, I visited him again today, and they're moving him out of the hospital into a treatment and rehab facility to try and get started on some basic physical therapy. He's progressing a little everyday, but this one is going to take a long time to recover from. Very sad situation. But then again, it could be worse. Thanks all, for the prayers and faith.....
