I rode in a down pour this past Sunday w/ my open air filter. Never bothered it. But I do want a rain sock to keep the bugs out of the air filter pleats. Going to my dealer tomorrow to get one.....Thanks for the part #......

That's what I want one for. I've rode in some torrential down pours with my BS II and the motor never missed a beat. Those damn bugs that get down in the bottom of the pleats are a real PITA to get cleaned out.

Performance Machine Roland Sands has a fitment kit for a Big Sucker or SE intake. I'm sure I saw they have a sock that should fit.

I've used "vet wrap", you pick it up at a farm supply or vet store. It's like a $1 a roll, comes in different colors. Kind of like an elastic gauze that is water repellent and sticks to itself. It's just about as wide as the filter, so just make one or two wraps around and your done.

Did you ever find a rain sock for the Big Sucker II? I'm in need.

Thanks!

I had the Big Sucker 2 on my Fat Boy and rode through hours of some ridiculousy heavy rain on the way to Americade last year. Also my bike sat out overnight in heavy rain the same trip- never had a problem (although it makes me sick to think about it!)
