If you read most posters' comments, very few have even recommended a rain sock, even in heavy downpours. I always wanted to get one for an absolute deluge for my stage 2. Couldn't hurt, I guess.

You can use the stock cover or you can get covers from Ness to keep it open. FROZENSOUL there is a rain sock from Ness Part # 18-060 or the Harley one will fit Part # 28728-10

thanks, i just want one to put in saddlebag, you never know. if i would need it then it will be there. i have the arlen ness cover on mine but i could put the football cover back on. i just like the looks of my ness cover. thanks much for the info folks.

No need for sock...if it's raining hard enough to affect intake then you'll be sitting under an overpass waiting out the downpour. A little water in the motor won't hurt a thing...drag racers inject water into motor for boosted performance. You'll be fine w/o sock...JMO.
