True Duals question

+1 w/tibadoe - The claimed loss of "low end" will be imperceptible and the power everywhere else will convert you from the 1500 rpm tractor motor that seems to be what every other rider wants. You'll notice quite a gain from 2500 rpm on which is actually low to mid rpm on a motor that's limited to 5800 rpm.

Hmm, I definately noticed the low end pull suffer on my evo motor. I just installed true dual headers. I lost a bit of the grunt on the bottom, 80" motor with cams and some mild head work. HOWEVER, the reason I did this was for the heat factor, and I instantly noticed a difference in the amount of cooking that my legs do, or dont, as the case is now. It also threw my jetting way off, the only change was the head pipes, same mufflers. It also seems to fall off on the top end a bit quicker as well. I also notice it made the bike a few DB louder, which was already on the high side of bearable. May need to look into some new baffles. As we have bike week rocking here in Phoenix, I think I will have it dyno tuned this weekend. Its only $100.00 and I will get a printout.

I have been running Vance and Hines true duals on my bike for many years.
The bike runs cooler.
No heat on my leg.
It sounds deeper (not louder).
I believe the engine is happier.
It looks better.
V&H great fit and heat shields.
Negligible low end torque loss.
Did I mention no heat on my leg?

You are so right , I had true duals on an 80" Evo and thought they were great compared to what I took off(stock) , ran them for a while then got a 2-1 Supertrapp put it on and at first didn't really like it , liked the sound on the TD's better and didn't really think that the 2-1 ran that much better. Then I switched back to the TD's ....that didn't last 1 day , I thought they were too loud and no bottom end . I have never ran any aftermarket exhaust other than 2-1's after that experience.
