Cool Who uses thier CB radio?

I've had my bike for over 2 years now and have never used the CB successfully. I tried once and no one was on the air.
Who uses their CB in anger? It looks to me to be like an appendix, most people have one but it never serves a purpose...

I've had my '07 since 2011 and about 35,000 miles. I've never used it. I will soon be putting in a new audio system and it will be gone, completely.

PS> I don't do group rides.

Most useful in group riding. With its limited range, you're not going to reach out any significant distance. Works well when riding with other equipped riders. As a road captain in my local HOG chapter, I use it all the time.

Just got my Limited this summer- first bike with a CB - and used it (sort of) about 2 weeks after I got it...

Took a trip from southern Maine to the Lake George in the Adirondacks (upstate NY). Wife and I on the bike, my mother and my daughter following in the car. I have a handheld CB that I use in my truck occasionally. Gave my mother the handheld so she could talk at me on the bike. Since I don't have a headset (yet) I couldn't respond verbally, so I just responded with thumbs up/thumbs down. 2 way comms would have been better, but one way voice was way better than nothing.

I leave it on, monitoring Ch19, all the time. Might actually be somewhat useful on the highway, but I don't ride there often. Don't get much CB traffic most of the places I am, except at work.

Used it for 119k miles on my 09 Ultra and 21k on my 14 Limited, any time there's more than one bike. awesome when riding in small and large groups.

I use it when riding with my buddy on trips. Comes in handy on trips, be it on a weekend in New England, or longer trips.

I've got 56,000 on the Ultra and have never plugged the mic up on the cb. I'm a retired trucker and have used one for years
But no one uses one anymore , everyone is talking on the cell phone

It's not for talking to your good buddy trucker about smokey. Although you can do that. It is extremely useful when riding with 1 or more riders, which I frequently do.

So, yes, I use it regularly, and would miss it if it was gone,

As a Road Captain in our HOG group, we use it all the time. Other than that though, never.
