That isn't one that will get you. It's the inner.

I know this old but I just bought an 03 Electra with 21k miles. Ive read up some on this issue and am concerned about it. What exactly should I do and get to fix this? I dont want to tear it apart just to inspect it. I want it fixed so I wont have to worry about it again. I need part numbers etc... Thanks!

I also found this informative, as I just bought an 03 ultra classic, with just under 44,000 miles on it. I bought it from the dealer, so I may see if I can get the previous owners info, and call him to ask about last inspection. The bike has adjustable push rods, so it is likely the cams have been out for one reason or another. Anyway, I know this is old, but wanted to post on it.

Default Cyco pads

I have an 01 RKC and I will be going in to check the pads as well. If they are worn I have some Cyco pads ready to go in. If they look okay then I will ride out the season and go with S&S 509 cams this winter. All about maximum ride time! I think on the subject of cause for the failure that shoe material manufacturing, spring tension and also chain condition, or did the links get properly deburred before the chain was constructed, all contribute.
