I am quite sure I have only 1 accessory plug with 4 wires. How do I change the plug that came with the outlet to get to the "switched" wire? Can the Deutsche connector be modified or dis-assembled?

The accessory plug under the seat has both run power and switched power. If you want to know which is the correct color wire for switched power, buy a shop manual. Yes, the connectors can be disassembled. Again, the instructions on how to do this are in the shop manual.

Thanks for all the replies, it appears the accessory plug can be set-up different ways depending om your needs. Minor exclusion from the instructions with the part. I guess that HD wants to sell me a shop manual too!

This is one of several links Googled "assembling Deutsch" connector found:

http://www.deutschconnector.com/tech...ser_guide.html

But having the HD Service Manual is something you ought to have.

Just what it say's 8-)
One of the uses for the plug is for the LED tour pac or saddle bag spoilers. If you have them the recomended way to hook them up is this plug.
In that case the Orange/Red switched by ignition turns on the running light and the Red/Yellow Brake relay turns on the brake light.
If you have more that one use for the plug you need to buy a Y-connector or do like I did and make your own.

Red/yellow means its a red wire with a yellow stripe, and it is powered only when the brake is on. As vzts4q says it is for additional brake lights.
