Default Dirty Windshield

Do you guys keep anything in your bags for cleaning your windshield when you are away from home? I have the Novus cleaner/polish at home but I don't keep it on my bike. Is there something, maybe pre-moistened that you guys recommend or just leave the Novus and a rag in my bags? I put the original windshield back on my Ultra and the small bugs are really bad in the evenings since the farmers have been cutting hay and grain.

I used to to keep a package of Windex Automotive Glass Wipes in my saddlebag. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find them at WalMart anymore. I tried the Turtle Wax Glass Wipes but did not like them as they are smaller and dry out much quicker than the Windex ones did.

I keep a microfiber rag in the tour-pak. When I stopped for a leg stretching break I buy a bottle of water to drink. Wet half of the rag to wash the shield then dry with the other half. I have been known to spill some gas on the tank when fueling. Never wipe off with a paper towel. I use the microfiber rag and throw away. A $1 rag is cheaper than a new shield or a scratched tank!

You could soak some paper towels with windex and put them in a ziploc and throw them in your saddlebags....

Carry some microfiber towels...wet one and lay on windshield to loosen bugs and debris...use wet rag to wash...use clean one to dry.

Hotel wash rags work well if you are in a hotel and can afford to use one for that (not saying steal it, just use it).

A few microfiber towels and a can of Pledge... works on the windshield and everything else.

I carry a spray bottle with a 50/50 mix of Hydrogen Peroxide and water. Spray in on ,wipe the bugs off easily. Will not harm anything on Your bike.

plexus is all i use. i carry a can and a microfiber in my bag all the time. when we rode to the ocean a few weeks ago we hit some nasty bugs through the marshes at dusk. i bet my shield had every disease know to man by the time we got there. sprayed it on, it foamed up a little and wiped it clean. can only buy it at the metric bike shop though.

+1 for the plexus, you can get it in small cans too!
