Default 07 flht.. Tire size ?

Looking to replace my rear tire on my 07 FLHTC . Now I know the Dunlop 402 MU85B16 will fit and the D402 MT90B16. But I'm looking for the widest that will fit without any modifications. Not to look cool I'm way to old for that. Its for the best ride and the extra weight that is on my bike. Anyone have any ideas ???

Default tire

Do yourself a favor and get an Elite 3 MU90B16.
It's a lot better handling tire and will last longer than a 402.

Does that E3 have the thin, half-inch whitewall like the 402 has?

But it's not a radial tire. What about the Dunlop E3 160/80/16 I heard that would fit.. And why does everyone like dunlop so much?

I put that tire on my 07 FLHTC and had no clearance issues at all. I have over 3k on it and, IMO, they are a far superior tire than the 402s. The 160 is probably all the wider you want to go without having issues.

If you have a 3" rim the widest you should fit is a 150, which will go in with room to spare. If you have 3 1/2" rim a 160 should squeeze in, although you may have to trim the belt guard near the tyre.

I have an Avon Venom 150/80/MU in my bike.

I put an Elite 3 on my 07 SG. The size is MU90B-16. Bought it from www.jakewilson.com Ordered it Wed at noon and received it Fri about noon. $118.00 total. No tax or shipping. Getting ready to order a front, about $95 and some dyna beads for balancing.

Not too many people care for the stock 402 tires but the E3 is a great tire for wear and handling.
