Default Dyno tuning. Is it worth it?

I've got an 09 Ultra with a pc-v and arlen ness big sucker and 3in. slip-ons with no baffles. The bike has a lot of decel pop and seems to idle high. Would it really make that much of a difference to have the bike dyno tuned professionally and how much would it cost. I had a honda dyno tuned and it helped performance wise and seems like it cost around a hundred bucks.

A quality tune by someone who knows what they're doing is absolutely worth the money.

I had my 09 Ultra Dyno'd and it runs considerably better - a good bit more get up and go. I hoped it would help the heat issue but it had little impact. I think it cost me about $400. So I would say overall it was worth it.

IMO it is worth it. But I would bet you will pay more than a $100. Probably more like $300

Definitely worth it. You might want to be sure your pop and high idle aren't due to a vacuum leak (if so fix that first). If you're OK there find a good tuner and go for it. Probably won't happen for $100 (more like the $300 BennieSG mentioned) but you'll be smiling afterward for sure.

I second the statement above. Also I just posted this in another thread (https://www.hdforums.com/forum/6929051-post22.html)

'09 RKC
V&H Dresser Duals
V&H Turndown Mufflers
Fuel Moto Stage 1 AC
PCV

The bike ran fine with the base map; however, after the dyno the acceleration is much smoother, better response, no more backfire. It just runs better. IMO you do not know what you're missing until you get an engine properly tuned (at least that is the boat that I was in). With that said, there is definitely magic/knowledge with the shop you choose. Get a recommendation from someone you trust.
PS> If you find a tuner for $100, I'd look for another one

It's worth it ($300 seems to be the going rate) ONLY if you can find a KNOWN ACE tuner...

...or as an alternate route, get an Auto Tune module and map from Jamie at Fuel Moto...his maps are spot-on!

With all due respect, no canned map or auto-tune will ever come close to what a custom tune will do for you.

Dave at JD's spent every bit of 9 hours tuning my Night Train's Stage 1 and charged me $400. The difference in both power and rideability was staggering.
