Am on a road trip down US 101 and ran my bike over a truck scale. 1200lbs exactly including me. Well within the max 1360 for the 09 models. I met a couple with a 08 UC who weighed his in as well and was 1600lbs including him and his wife, and was towing a trailer. I know a few lbs over isn't that critical if the tires are good but 240 + is wayyy more than I would consider safe. Anyone else ever weigh their bikes in over GVRW?

Not sure I understand the acronyms you are using but the total weight of the bike plus trailer is not being carried through the bike tyres so I don't think that is an issue. The additional loading on the bike tyres due to the trailer should be between negligble and zero if trailer is balanced and correctly loaded - or maybe I am missing the point here

I read that as meaning the bike, rider and wife weighed 1600 pounds, but he had a trailer as well. Reading it again I'm not sure! They would be two truly heavy people....

I've never weighed my bike although I do plan to do so. It is extensively modified and must be significantly heavier than when new (many years ago!). I also use a rear tyre with slightly higher load rating, on Avon's recommendation, as my best estimate is when my wife and I are ready to tour we are close to our gross vehicle weight rating limit (GVWR), if not slightly over.

Default GVRW=gross vehicle rating weight

I'm pretty sure that after all things considered, that weight must have been bike/passengers&trailer.

Sorry
GVWR= gross vehicle weight rating (maximum combined weight of vehicle/passenger/luggage)
