What is too many miles on a used Road King..

Look at the person selling it. How does he (or she) present (I'm no snob but character matters). Do they take care of their cars and bikes? I would have no problem buying one with 35,000 miles off someone who values their vehicles and has taken care of them. I just sold a 2000 Low Rider which had 32,000 miles and was extremely well cared for. I stopped buying new cars because of the initial devaluation. I bought a 07' Pontiac Solstice and 07' F-150 (with Lariat package) in the last 4 months. The Solstice sticker was $30,000 and the F-150 is a $38,000 vehicle new. I got some great deals and they are nice vehicles. Don't be afraid to pull the trigger if it's what you want.

The overall condition of the bike is more important than the mileage. The way it's been maintained and runs is more important. Real low mileage concerns me more than higher. I'd be worried about rotted tires and internal rust.
If 35,000 on an early 2000 model is too much I'm screwed. My 08 has over 60,000

my brother bought a 2003 road king with 30K on it from a reputable HD dealer. he put another 3k on it before something was wrong with the motor. he spent $3500 to replace the cam bearings. another HD dealer told him that is a common issue on early 2000 + motors with about 30k on them. so if you buy one with over 30k -plan on replacing those bearings or at least have the case opened and those bearings checked before you buy it.
