Default oil change tool

I have 500 miles on my new bike. I thinking about getting one of these tools to charge my oil with. Has anyone tried one? Maybe were not getting all the oil to drain out.

3 for me too.. Maybe less now that I put an Oil bud cooler on. Haven't changed the oil since installing it since august.
I heard that the oil scavengers are real messy.

I thought it was just my bike and a "factory 2nd dipstick". So is 3 Qts the right number or should we be using 3.5 when changing the oil & filter?

3 quarts for my 2010 EGC...and I use a vacuum pump to suck the oil out. Figure if it was good enough for a $75,000 boat that was run very close to Niagara Falls it's good enough for the bike...

Simple fix. After draining the oil, did I mention it should be hot, and before loosening the filter, start the motor, blip the throttle a few times and let it run 10-15 seconds. I will puke out another pint of oil.

No, it will not cavitate the oil pump. I have done it for years, 92000 miles and 25 oil changes on current ride.

After everything is buttoned back up, start the motor, blip it, and in 5 seconds the oil pr lite goes out. Works great and lasts a long time.

Adds about 45 seconds to the oil change procedure at no cost.

I done that,it works...Even just cranking the engine a couple of seconds once or twice is good enough.

Default I also found 3 1/2 quarts to be too much

Using 3 1/2 quarts puts the oil up to the full mark and ends up blowing oil out the air filter making a mess. 3 1/4 quarts seems to be just right.

Filter is empty level will drop when filter is full.

Does anyone else find that 3 quarts is enough, and doesn't that seem like the wrong amount of oil, when they say it takes 4.
Thanks for any help Jonnierock
