Default Harmon Kardon

Got a HK in the 09' SG dash w/Hotunes amp and tweetter pod,
been using an IPod for music, it sure seems like the sound quaility is
better thru the Aux w/the IPod ,,,,,,
The actual HK Radio just doesn't seem to have that same quality...
does this seem or sound right?

Ditto...radio sensitivity to bringing in FM stations is questionable...'
I'd rather play a cd and sometimes have to play a cd.

Kind of obvious...no??? An iPod or CD is a direct digital or audio signal into the radios audio circuit. A Radio signal, complete with all atmospheric influences, poor antennas, antenna cables, etc, will never be as clean and clear as a Cd or iPod audio.

I'm thinking of getting the new ipod integration kit but worried about the sound quality. I hope it wont be like plugging it into the AUX

Sure seems odd tho that a cheap grocery go-getter 4-wheeler,
can get better quality sound and pick up reception
out of its radio than a 20+k H.D.

You are correct. The Ipod and CD's do sound better.I think the receiver/tuner could be better as far as sound quality and reception.

some of the limitation on sound is the quality at which your mp3s are compressed/recorded. the higher the bit rate, the better quality you are going to have, but the files will be larger. on a bike, 192 kbs is a pretty good compromise between sound quality and file size.

if you are ripping your own mp3s, i recommend exact audio copy. if you configure it properly, you can make virtually identical copies of your cds.

lol...yea true...but someone told me once that this stock radio was a $700.00 radio...I just think from hearing it that it should play FM better than it does..Jeeze I have a 4 foot antenna for gods sake..
