"Question" Harley-Davidson® Retrctble Tour Pak Lid Tether 54171-11
got this new part... NO inst - not real rocket sceince but I do have one question..
when I removed the stock cable - I found the wave washer behind the cable - do I use that in the same positon on the new Tether ????

I installed mine with the wave washer and a drop of blue loctite.
The retractable lanyard is a great idea and it works great. The stock lanyard was a PITA as it jumped out every time I closed the lid. GOOD RIDANCE!

Thanks for the info, I have been waiting on my dealer to actually get some in stock. My stock cable is almost always in the way as well.
