I have the j&s and the pitbull in the garage. I prefer the j&s because it is smaller and easier to maneuver. The pitbulls advantage of a higher lift height is offset by its bigger size.

I have the J&S, and has been trouble free for three years now.

The thing I like about my J and S is that when it's up in it's highest setting it's almost completely under the bike. Less to trip over and get in your way. I also really like the drain guide for draining the fluids. I clean our bikes on it so it gets used about once a week in the summer.

No tie downs! Very cool.....

I went though the same decision process a few weeks ago. The Pitbull has the grease fittings, and lifts higher. It also comes with a handle.

The J&S seems to be as highly regarded, has a smaller footprint and is a bit lighter. Since my garage space is limited, I choose the J&S and got the drain pan included for less than the Pitbull. I stand it up against the wall to store, so size and weight did matter to me. And now I can change my fluids and get zero spills on the garage floor using the drain pan. That keeps mama happy, and we all know how important that is.

I've used it twice so far, it's rock solid and I feel much more confident with it than I did with my Sears jack.

If I had more room, I probably would have bought the Pitbull, I kinda liked the grease fittings. But I really don't think you'll go wrong with either one.

J & S here too!!!
Looks like this thread has turned into a "tie down" or "no tie down" thread.
Personally I use no tie downs 99% of the time.
The 1% is when I'm removing the front or rear wheel as this changes the balance of the bike
.........I may or may not of put the jack in it's sweet spot.
