Got back from a ride today and after parking the scoot in the mancave, my OL tells me there was oil leaking… I was like, it’s a Harley, oil leaks… even though my scooter doesn’t leak, I figured I had been on borrowed time…

Well I go out to the mancave and see a puddle of oil under the front tire… after checking I see the new chrome forks I replaced a month ago was leaking out the oil plug. Lucky I had a bottle left over from the change out. The plug was finger tight. I checked the other one on the other side; sure enough it was loose also.

I cleaned everything thing up and replaced the oil on the right side. My question is, what cleans the fork oil off the front tire?

I used a bottle of brake cleaner, then I hand washed it with Dawn dishwashing cleaner. Any other ideas?

 

The brake cleaner and soap should have taken care of the oil,but if not try spraying on and simple green and rinse.

 

Blue Wolf or Westleys Tire Bleach work well also.
