I switched to progressive shocks and it's still ugly. It's the angle on the shocks that just doesn't look right (kinda like an fxr)

 

Actually it isn't the shocks, it's the fact the rear fender doesn't properly cover the wheel.

 

, and the side covers, the bag brackets. Lets just call it everything rear of the engine.

 

When I had a bike that didn't come with saddlebags, I was always wishing that I had them.

I took them off them off the RK once and rode it a bit, and then put them back on. It just didn't "feel" right, nor did it look right. It's not a bad look; it's just not a good one.

Actually, my Road King is more like an athlete who will keep you going all day long and into the night and is ready for more the next morning. She's not the most beautiful girl, but she is a cheer leader and what's more, she'll pitch in and help you carry your stuff home after a work out.

 

I also just remembered I put on saddle bag filler panels -no way I'm unbolting them and taking those off - .... yep, ol' Orange Blossom Special will forever be a bagger

 

Hmm. Never thought about it until I removed the bags,,,,,,,My 97 HSC DOES look good without them.....

 

RK's run great when you lighten 'em up a little.....
