If I ever get a ticket for wearing ear plugs, I would request a jury trial, and see how far that ticket goes. I doubt very far. The judge would most likely throw it out instead of taking time with a jury trial. The pro's beat the cons on this issue.

I actually wear the skull candy plugs. They make the world quieter and I can hear the music perfectly. There are many miles that I just run with them in my ears with no radio on. They alone (with the 3/4 helmet) seems to take care of the unwanted noise.

I'm 45 and never had a lick of hearing trouble until about three years ago when I bought my Ultra Classic. Sure wish I had worn earplugs, the Tinnitus drives me nuts!

Started wearing them when I rode with a group in Sturgis, nothing to talk about IMHO, its that much better. Kinda like getting on the bike without gloves or sitting in the car without putting on the seatbelt. Yeah I can do it, but it doesn't feel right without them now.

Default Howard Leight

These plugs work great, 200 prs. to a box for $20. YMMV, but I reuse them like 10 times. Up to 30NRR protection, not the highest, but extremely comfortable up to 8 hours, then need a break for 2 hours, then back in. Been using them for 8 years.

All that said, I gave a handful to my brother and he can't stand them. Every ear's different so that's why there are sampler packs to try different ones out:

Protect the ears. Hearing aids are a hassle.
